Altrusa International of Fond du Lac celebrates its 60^th year of service to the City of Fond du Lac in 2011.

Richard D. Gudex, President of Fond du Lac City Council presented the following proclamation to our club!

Whereas, Altrusa International of Fond du Lac will celebrate its 60^th year of service to the City of Fond du Lac in 2011; and

Whereas, Altrusa International improves the quality of life in Fond du Lac through commitment to promoting community service and literacy, and

Whereas, Altrusa International’s efforts have improved literacy in Fond du Lac through the development of the Altrusa Reading Room in the Solutions Center, by providing bookcases and books to all new Habitat for Humanity homes, and through providing funding, books and volunteers for the Adult Literacy program, and

Whereas, Altrusa International has served Fond du Lac’s  young people by granting scholarships to graduating seniors for college expenses and has helped feed Fond du Lac’s home-bound residents by organizing drivers to deliver meals prepared by St. Agnes Hospital as a part of a long standing involvement with the Mobile Meals program; and

Whereas, Altrusa International has provided Fond du Lac with a lasting gift by bringing attention to the knowledge and power found in books;

Now, therefore, I, Richard D. Gudex, President of the Fond du Lac City ‘Council do hereby congratulate Altrusa International of Fond du Lac on celebrating 60 years of service and urge the citizens of Fond du Lac to recognize the past and ongoing contributions of Altrusa International of Fond du Lac and support its efforts.
